The Billion Dollar Campaign

This is how the Obamareich’s re-election machine is being characterized —and I have no reason to doubt it. Do his followers have a problem with their idol burning through a billion dollars of crony contributions? I don’t hear much about it, if so. I think such a figure would only be morally repugnant if it were a Republican campaign.

I think the Election of 2012 is going to burn some bridges.

I’m glad Romney stepped it up on Gingrich tonight with the influence-peddling charge, but he probably didn’t gain a lot of ground from it. Still, Romney needs to stay mean and on the offense even if that’s playing against type.

I’m pulling for Romney because I believe he is the most electable of the candidates. But his recent debate performances —and these debates have taken on the importance of other kinds of contest serials the networks air— have been much too conservative and defensive. Gingrich’s superior use of the free publicity these debates bring has given him a lot of momentum. Romney needs to bring out a more aggressive style and stop hiding behind proprieties, too. Like tomorrow. Florida’s his firewall, some say, but he can’t rest on organization when he needs to have or even make a signature moment. I mean the good kind.

It’s easy to get anxious about who the Republicans are going to nominate to defeat Obama. Despite what happened tonight, I don’t see Gingrich as electable. That’s because he’s a prick who independents are not going to go for —no matter how awful this current President is.

Whatever’s left of the GOP establishment needs to stop Gingrich’s momentum. Is there any chance of a Romney-Paul fusion ticket? Jesus!

Rewatching the SOTU

In rewatching President Obama’s SOTU address from last night, I think he genuinely believes that the State is the source of prosperity and the driver of our economy, rather than a regulator and competitor that only grows to encroach upon personal liberty and to ultimately co-opt and then expropriate the actual reason America works and can afford Big Government: private capital. This stuff about this being a “Sputnik moment” and a time for Apollo projects of our own is an example of his thoroughgoing Marxism. Don’t look away from that assessment or reflexively dismiss it, either! Obama believes that the State originates innovation, when all it can really do is fund private contractors and academia in furtherance of some political agenda. With his two examples, both of which involved an agency (i.e., NASA) that he now wants to cut and marginalize, Obama apparently sees us in some sort of equivalent to the race into space or to the Moon —but in what way now, some 50 years on? What goal do we have as Americans that can be achieved collectively today? Why does he think the American economy grows by the diktats of a central authority? America has no ideological foe to compete against now, but to destroy. That is an ugly fact that won’t be leaving the room empty-handed.

And look at what’s left of the Democratic morons who now want to stand with Republicans to applaud the repeal of Obamacare’s 1099 provisions! If they had taken the time and care last year to address our health care deficiencies in America properly and honestly, they wouldn’t have included such a thing. But now they want to stand and cheer it down?

Watching MSNBC before the SOTU

This Democratic Representative from NY, Carolyn McCarthy, talking to the oddly well-behaved Lawrence O’Donnell is a gun control nut who is using Tucson as a pretext for promoting her gun control nuttiness —and Dick Cheney’s opinion of extended ammo clips is irrelevant. Why do hippies think that they can get rid of enough guns and magazines and ammunition to make America safe? It’s almost as stupid a belief as the Republicans’ delusion that it’s possible to completely eradicate marihuana. What childish crap! If it is some psychopath’s purpose to commit mass murder, how likely is it that he will be deterred by too short an ammo clip?

Just say no to gun control enthusiasts and gateway drug addicts.

The Real Threat to Democracy

David Axelrod and his boss are a goddamned disgrace. Obama’s suggestion that the Republicans and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Karl Rove are stealing our democracy is based on lies and is stupid and wrong. This incredible Marxist thug that the Democrats put in the White House has some nerve to lie about where his political opponents are getting their money when it’s a virtual certainty that Obama’s own fundraising in 2008 was full of fraudulent donations from abroad.

Maybe Chairman Issa can look into how and why all of those millions of dollars in credit card donations to Obama’s campaign originated from untraced and untraceable sources. That was a deliberate choice and it’s time that the real thieves of our democracy are held to account.

Tales from the DVR: Yesterday’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour

I’m watching ABC’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour for the first time and I must say that she certainly knows how to take on the enemies of America: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Christine O’Donnell.

If Ms. Amanpour’s understanding of what the Tea Party really is were any slighter, she’d have to nail it to her own head to keep it from floating away.

Incidentally, why is the chairman of the Delaware Republican Party allowing himself to be used like this? Are the Republicans playing the biggest good cop-bad cop routine ever? Why else is this clown on the panel to contribute to the ad hominem attacks on someone who is now, like it or not, his own nominee?

The Illustrative Idiocy of Lisa Murkowski

If it’s true that Lisa Murkowski, a mere politician whose job was literally bequeathed to her by daddy, is selfish enough to crank up some stupid-assed write-in candidacy, it may be best to consider that her shameless exercise in ego would actually serve to demonstrate to Alaskans (and all Americans) the great imperative of destroying the general incumbency in the United States Congress.

Consider another Alaskan: Sarah Palin voluntarily walked away from elective office to seek other fortunes —and the ninnies howled that she was a quitter and a sell-out. She gave up the actual power of the state to a lieutenant because that is an option available to her in a republican form of government. The state after all, is a “public thing” —and not a hereditary fiefdom belonging to the Murkowskis, Kennedys, and Bushes of this land.

We need a system where people are seen as selfish and dangerous who think that they themselves are indispensible to an office. Let people’s ambitions take them away from the state —and not into its highest precincts.
