I didn’t catch this yesterday, as my personal ban on the excrement dispensery CNN remains unlifted, but Obamachrist’s chief economic buffoon told John King (emphasis added):
Again, you know, anytime we have now got taxpayer money on the line, what we have an obligation to do is do it in a way that protects the American taxpayer. What is going to be the way that gets these institutions safe, gets them doing what we need them to do, which is lend like crazy, and just basically functioning again for the economy.
Translation: Socialism isn’t just an economic philosophy, but a vehicle for social progress. Therefore, let’s do the same things we did before and pretend that it’s going to be different this time.
BTW, I happen to be one of those Americans who benefited from the easy terms of the housing market of the past several years. The only real difference I can think of between me and the poor bastards who got foreclosed on is that I don’t do stupid shit like renting to own my furniture or doing my grocery shopping at convenience stores or eating out every meal or forgetting that the mortgage always comes first.
